LOS ANGELES — Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu is streaming exclusively on Disney+ as of Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, Disney+ press materials and StarWars.com confirmed the same day.

The Jon Favreau-directed feature — starring Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin with Grogu, plus Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White — hits the service the same day as two companion drops: an all-new LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian animated special, and the first two episodes of the film’s Official Podcast at 6:00 p.m. PT, Disney+ said.

StarWars.com’s Sept. 2 watch-at-home update also said the film is available now on digital platforms (including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango) and on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, with bonus featurettes and Favreau audio commentary on the digital and disc editions.

Three Disney+ debuts, one date

Disney+’s August press release framed Sept. 2 as a triple splash for the Mandalorian brand: the theatrical film’s exclusive stream, the LEGO retelling of the live-action series’ three seasons, and the Official Podcast’s behind-the-scenes launch. Podcast Episode 1 (“Growing Up”) and Episode 2 (“Bigger & Different”) were scheduled to go live at 6:00 p.m. PT with guests including Favreau, Dave Filoni, Ludwig Göransson, Pedro Pascal, and Sigourney Weaver, per Disney+.

Video episodes of the podcast live on Disney+ and YouTube; audio-only versions were listed for Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Pandora, Amazon Music, SiriusXM, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn, the press release said.

The streamer also said the film would be available in IMAX Enhanced on Disney+, including IMAX’s expanded aspect ratio for subscribers and IMAX Enhanced sound powered by DTS on certified TVs and AV receivers.

Film synopsis from the studios: with the Empire fallen and Imperial warlords scattered, the New Republic enlists legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and apprentice Grogu. Favreau directs; the screenplay is by Favreau, Filoni, and Noah Kloor. Weaver appears on screen; Martin Scorsese and Jeremy Allen White lend their voices, per Disney+ and StarWars.com.

LEGO special and home formats

LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian, directed by Chris Buckley and written by Michael Price, debuts exclusively on Disney+ Sept. 2 as a comedic retelling of all three seasons of the live-action series, Disney+ said. The voice cast includes series regulars in animated form, among them Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, and Gavin Hammon as The Mandalorian, according to the press materials.

On the physical side, StarWars.com listed Beskar Collector’s Edition and SteelBook 4K UHD packages alongside standard 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD. Featurettes named on the digital/Blu-ray extras include craft and puppetry deep-dives, biome builds, the Shakari city set, and “Dejarik for Real,” plus Favreau’s audio commentary.

From theaters to living rooms

The movie opened in theaters May 22, 2026, after multiple Emmy-winning seasons of The Mandalorian on Disney+. Wednesday’s home release closes the gap between the summer theatrical run and on-demand viewing — digital, physical, and the Disney+ exclusive stream landing together on Sept. 2, per StarWars.com and Disney+.

Dated Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026: Mando and Grogu are no longer a theater-only appointment. They’re on Disney+, on disc, and on digital the same day the LEGO special and the Official Podcast join the pile.
