Netflix will add Parker Finn's Smile 2 to its U.S. library on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2026, according to Netflix Tudum's September guide. The 2024 Paramount Pictures sequel stars Naomi Scott as pop star Skye Riley.

Tudum's synopsis: "After witnessing a disturbing tragedy, a pop star becomes haunted by a sinister, smirking entity that threatens her comeback tour — and her life." That is the same curse premise as Finn's 2022 Smile, moved into a fame and tour-machine setting. Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Kyle Gallner, and others round out the cast. Finn wrote and directed.

Paramount released Smile 2 in theaters on Oct. 18, 2024. Studio materials at the time put the budget around $28 million; box-office tallies later put the worldwide gross near $138 million. Those are studio and box-office figures, not Netflix's. The Rotten Tomatoes critic score commonly cited in coverage of the Netflix add is 86 percent — an aggregator number, not a studio claim.

Sept. 3 is also the day Tudum lists Season 2 of Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen and a full run of Major Crimes. Smile 2 is the horror lead of that midweek drop. How long the license lasts is unstated. Netflix's September list is a calendar, not a term sheet.

What the streamer is buying is a recent theatrical sequel with a recognizable curse and a lead who can carry both a pop persona and a possession plot. The entity still smiles. The tour still goes on until it does not. Viewers who already own Paramount+ or a disc are not the target. The target is the Next button after Alien and Jaws.
