Clancy holdout juror Desronvil: ‘I didn’t have any doubts’; lawyer says he’s in secure location
PLYMOUTH, Mass. (Sept. 18, 2026) — The lone holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy’s triple-murder mistrial has broken his silence, saying he “didn’t have any doubts” that she planned the killings — while his new attorney says he is “safe and sound” at an undisclosed secure location in rural Northern New England after intense backlash.
In a statement to NewsNation relayed by a spokesperson and reported overnight into Friday by CNN and CBS News, Michael P. Desronvil, 48, said fellow jurors misrepresented his views. “As I tried to explain different possible theories during deliberation, I kept getting cut off as if I had doubts based on the evidence present,” he said. “Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presents, I thought it was enough proof that she (Clancy) knew exactly what she was doing and planned.”
That account clashes with notes and interviews from other jurors after the Sept. 4 mistrial. Jury foreperson Roni Carlson’s note to Judge William Sullivan alleged Desronvil “has made statements acknowledging doubt, but refuses to apply it to the verdict as the law states,” prompting an unsuccessful bid by defense attorney Kevin Reddington to remove him. Other jurors who favored a not-guilty-by-reason-of-lack-of-criminal-responsibility outcome have described an 11–1 deadlock and heated deliberations.
Lawyer: Northern New England secure location
Attorney Edward Andrew Paltzik announced on X that he represents the holdout, calling him a “courageous and heroic” American and saying: “He is presently safe and sound at an undisclosed secure location in a rural area of Northern New England.” Paltzik urged people to protect his privacy and said those who “viciously attacked” his client “will be held accountable.” The Washington Examiner and other outlets recirculated the secure-location claim Friday morning.
The Boston Globe has reported confirming Desronvil’s identity through photos, court records, and a fellow juror. Sullivan has indefinitely sealed the full juror list citing safety risks. Clancy, 36, admitted strangling her children — Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and Callan, 8 months — at the family’s Duxbury home in January 2023 but argued postpartum psychosis left her not criminally responsible. She remains at Tewksbury Hospital; a hearing is set for Sept. 29 as prosecutors decide whether to retry.
