PLYMOUTH, Mass. — The brother of the lone holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial told the New York Post his sibling “looked at the case, and he made the call,” denying online claims that Catholic faith drove the deadlock — and saying the family’s life has been upended by harassment since the mistrial, according to reports republished by Fox News and detailed by the Daily Mail.

“For me, that’s how I would do it. I would just listen to the case with all the evidence, and go from there,” the brother told the Post. On religion: “I don’t think religion had anything to do with it.” He added that the juror’s choice was “good for some people, but not good for other people.”

The brother said the Haitian immigrant family is devoutly Catholic and did not even know the juror was on the Clancy panel until the mistrial. “We didn’t know, that’s why I was shocked. He didn’t tell us anything,” he said. Since then: “My family cannot leave the house. People have been calling me like crazy. It’s crazy. They are leaving notes at my mother’s house. They won’t leave us alone and we don’t know anything.”

Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial Sept. 4 after an 11–1 split; Clancy, 36, admitted strangling her children — Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and Callan, 8 months — in January 2023 at the family’s Duxbury home but argued postpartum psychosis left her not criminally responsible. Sullivan has since sealed juror names and questionnaires citing threats. Prosecutors have not said whether they will retry; the next hearing is set for Sept. 29.
