TITUSVILLE, Fla. — A Mooney M20F four-seat propeller plane crashed Monday morning, Sept. 7, 2026, near Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville, killing the sole occupant, local officials said. The National Transportation Safety Board identified the aircraft type and said preliminary information shows the pilot reported an engine failure shortly after departing the airport, then attempted a left turn back toward the runway before the plane struck trees and power lines and caught fire on the ground.

The crash site was on Columbia Boulevard (State Road 405) between Sisson Road and South Washington Avenue / U.S. 1, just north of the airport, according to the Titusville Police Department, Titusville Fire Department, and Brevard County Sheriff’s Office accounts carried by local desks including FOX 35 Orlando, WESH, ClickOrlando / WKMG, and Space Coast Daily.
