DEN BOSCH, Netherlands — Team Europe reclaimed the Solheim Cup on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, beating the United States 15–13 at Bernardus Golf after a dominant singles session that flipped a tied match into a home-soil win for captain Anna Nordqvist’s side.

The teams entered Sunday locked at 8–8 after two days. The U.S., defending champions from 2024, needed 6 points from 12 singles matches to retain the Cup at 14; Europe needed 6½ to reach 14½ and take it back. Europe answered with a 7–5 singles haul — and got over the line with matches still on the course, GOLF.com and RTÉ reported.

Woad guarantees it; Ciganda seals it

Rookie Lottie Woad beat Auston Kim 2 and 1, holing out on the 17th to put Europe on 14 points and mathematically guarantee the 14½ needed once Carlota Ciganda’s match could no longer be lost. About 10 minutes later, Carlota Ciganda finished Jennifer Kupcho 4 and 2 — the same Spaniard who delivered the decisive point when Europe retained in Spain in 2023 — to confirm the victory, according to match reports.

Europe’s Sunday charge started early in the rain. Charley Hull beat Megan Khang 3 and 2 in the leadoff match — the first singles loss of Khang’s Solheim career, GOLF.com noted — and Linn Grant rolled Angel Yin 4 and 3. Rookies Nastasia Nadaud and Julia López Ramírez also won singles points as Europe took six of the first eight matches.

U.S. answers, but not enough

The Americans still punched through. Nelly Korda beat Mimi Rhodes 4 and 2; Lauren Coughlin ended Leona Maguire’s perfect Solheim singles record, 2 and 1; Lindy Duncan beat Maja Stark 3 and 1; Alison Lee edged Esther Henseleit 1 up; and Rose Zhang closed out Céline Boutier. It was not enough: Europe had already locked the Cup.

Europe has now won three of the last five Solheim Cups; the only loss in that stretch was Virginia in 2024. The U.S. still has not won away from home since 2015.
