CROMVOIRT, Netherlands — Team Europe seized a 7–5 lead over Team USA after Saturday morning foursomes at the 2026 Solheim Cup at Bernardus Golf, winning the session 3–1 after Friday’s rare dual tied sessions left the match 4–4, Sky Sports and RTÉ reported on Sept. 12, 2026.

Both Friday sessions finished 4–4 — only the second time in Solheim Cup history both opening-day sessions were tied — before the hosts grabbed the first daylight of the week on Saturday morning.

In the top match, Sweden’s Maja Stark and Linn Grant beat world No. 1 Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz 3&2, ending the Americans’ unbeaten foursomes partnership. Korda and Corpuz had a 100% career foursomes record together and a five-match winning streak as a pair. Stark chipped in for eagle at the drivable par-four eighth and sealed the point with an eight-foot birdie at 16, Sky Sports reported.

“It’s the best feeling ever,” Stark said. “It felt like we put up some really decent golf both today and yesterday — it’s hard to beat when you’re not making any bogeys.”

Alison Lee and Lauren Coughlin then crushed Europe’s Charley Hull and Lottie Woad 6&5 — matching the joint-largest winning margin in Solheim Cup foursomes. Lee claimed her third win in as many sessions. “Today, I feel like all I had to do was just sit back and watch the Lauren [Coughlin] show,” Lee said, per Sky Sports.

Rookie duo Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud beat Andrea Lee and Auston Kim 4&3, becoming the first debutant pairing to win two matches together at one Solheim Cup and posting the largest margin by a debutant foursomes pair. “We played very sensible — had loads of fairways and greens and gave ourselves opportunities,” Nadaud said.

The session closer went the distance: Ireland’s Leona Maguire and Germany’s Esther Henseleit beat Jennifer Kupcho and Rose Zhang 1-up on the 18th after Zhang caught the bunker lip with her approach and made a closing bogey. Maguire’s Solheim Cup record moved to 10-3-1, RTÉ reported. Maguire said holes 10, 11, and 12 were “key turning holes” after Europe stayed patient through a topsy-turvy match.

Afternoon fourballs were underway or scheduled next, with pairings including Stark/Grant vs. Megan Khang/Lauren Coughlin, Hull/Woad vs. Yealimi Noh/Andrea Lee, Maguire/Nadaud vs. Zhang/Kim, and Carlota Ciganda/Céline Boutier vs. Kupcho/Lindy Duncan, per RTÉ. Sunday singles decide the Cup: Europe need 14.5 points to win; defending champion USA need 14 to retain.
