Maria Bartiromo is out at Fox News after 12 and a half years
Fox News Media parted ways with Maria Bartiromo on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, after more than 12 years at Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network. The company did not give a reason. “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” Fox said in a statement carried by Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.
Her last Mornings with Maria aired Thursday on Fox Business. Starting Friday the hour becomes Mornings with Fox Business with rotating anchors, Fox told both trades. The weekly Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street becomes FBN’s Wall Street, hosted this week by Cheryl Casone and then by rotating anchors. Fox Business said a new weekday schedule is coming in the weeks ahead. On Fox News Channel, former Rep. Jason Chaffetz will host Sunday Morning Futures this Sunday; a permanent host is still unannounced.

Bartiromo joined Fox in 2014 after two decades at CNBC, where she was the first journalist to report live daily from the New York Stock Exchange floor. Variety noted she was among Fox personnel named in Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation suit, which Fox settled for $787.5 million. The Hollywood Reporter compared the suddenness of Thursday’s split to Fox’s 2023 ouster of Tucker Carlson. Neither outlet reported a successor plan beyond the rotating-anchor placeholders.
Vice President JD Vance, taking questions Thursday, was asked about rumors that Bartiromo could become White House press secretary. He said “no, I don’t think so,” according to video posted by Nick Sortor, and called her “an amazing person, amazing talent.” Fox’s statement is the only official word from the network: she is out, effective Thursday, with no public explanation attached.
