Netflix will release Season 2 of Stranger Things: Tales From '85 on Sept. 17, 2026. The date is on Netflix Tudum's Season 2 trailer and release page. The animated spin-off, set in the winter of 1985 between seasons of the live-action series, returns the Hawkins Investigators Club to a new paranormal threat.

Tudum's official Season 2 logline: "With Valentine's Day just around the corner, mysterious 'ghostly' apparitions and a swarm of hate sprites are wreaking havoc around Hawkins. The HIC must uncover the truth behind these paranormal events before a new gate to the Upside Down is ripped open."

Showrunner Eric Robles told Tudum the season picks up after the Season 1 finale. "We think that the kids are going back to their normal lives, but we start to discover that these flowers are popping up all over Hawkins," he said. "Nikki and Max are scheming to sell the flowers all over Hawkins. Now [they] are going to be everywhere, which creates a bigger problem."

Robles also teased new locations: "What's really exciting is we're going to go places that we haven't been to before. There's a mine in Hawkins that we haven't explored yet." In the April renewal note on Tudum, he tied the threat to "the town's abandoned silver mines" and "the mysterious blue flower we last saw blooming in the Upside Down at the end of Season 1."

Voice cast returning for Season 2, per Tudum: Brooklyn Davey Norstedt (Eleven), Luca Diaz (Mike), Jolie Hoang-Rappaport (Max), Elisha "EJ" Williams (Lucas), Braxton Quinney (Dustin), Benjamin Plessala (Will), and Odessa A'zion (Nikki Baxter). Also returning: Brett Gipson (Hopper), Janeane Garofalo (Anna Baxter), Jeremy Jordan (Steve Harrington), Alessandra Antonelli (Nancy Wheeler), Valeria Rodriguez (Rosario), and Jack Griffo (Jeff).

Netflix renewed the series five days after Season 1's April 23, 2026 premiere, as part of an upfront two-season order. Animation is by Flying Bark Productions. Rating: TV-PG. Season 1 is streaming now; Season 2 arrives Sept. 17.
